Before I moved to Hawaii I didn't realize that I had no idea how pineapples grew. Do they grow on trees? Are they a bush? What? Well for those of you interested this is how they grow. You can cut the top off of a pineapple and stick it in the ground and it will grow!!! So cool!! The main part of the plant you see is basically the top of a pineapple and then a stalk will sprout out of it with a baby pineapple on it. Travis and I picked one the other day. It was the most delicious pineapple to date!!! And I promise, until you have had a pineapple from Hawaii you haven't lived!!!P.S. the cage is around it to keep it safe from the wild pigs,they think this yard is the all you can eat buffet.
