"Honu" is the Hawaiian name for Turtle...This is the Green sea turtle. I love them, I think they are the cutest things ever!!! I can sit and watch them for hours. They are named green sea turtles not because they are green on the outside but because they are green on the inside!! They eat seaweed and it deposits in the fat layer in their bodies and turns their insides green. Kinda cool. Gee.. makes me wonder what color my fat layer is... hum? Just kidding!!! The green sea turtle is a protected animal in Hawaii, and you are not allowed to touch them or you will get pegged with a hefty fine. So here, it is definitely look but don't touch!! Angie....I needed a vacation really bad so I just decided to go to your blog. I LOVE IT. I love reading your blog and have not done it in a long time. Hope all is well. I loved the turtles. They are some of my favorites. I miss you and tell Aarin she needs to add me to her blog now that she has gone private. I have seen your cute daughter a time or two and waved at her but I need to stop and physically say hello to her.
